Assessment

Eligibility
- Second Class Honours PLUS qualified professional status in medicine, nursing or any other health/social care setting PLUS 2 years working experience in a health/socialcare setting, preferably in the field of diabetes
- Or, 2:1 degree in biological, health or social sciences. You must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in diabetes either through a formal interview process or references. Applicants with a 2:2 Honours degree may be considered.
- Or, extensive experience in health or social care research or management, preferably in the field of diabetes; or extensive prior clinical/medical training, preferably in the field of diabetes. You must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in diabetes through references

This module covers the key components of diabetes management and has been specifically developed to provide you with a good understanding of all the current and latest therapeutic developments.
This module provides you with an in-depth overview of the complications associated with diabetes to equip the you with the knowledge and confidence to advise and support people with these conditions.
This module will provide you with the fundamental knowledge, skills and competency required in applied health research, research from a clinical or healthcare perspective.

If you’re a for healthcare professionals with an interest in diabetes inpatient care such as specialist registrars, diabetes specialist nurses, consultant diabetologists, podiatrists, pharmacists and ward nurses, then this is the module for you.
This comprehensive module has been developed by a talented team of paediatric specialists to advance your knowledge and skills as healthcare professionals in diagnosing and managing diabetes in children and young people, which can be particularly challenging.
If you are a healthcare professionals or someone with an interest in obesity and prevention of type 2 diabetes, then this is the module for you. You’ll gain an insight into the complex link between obesity and health, specifically in relation to type 2 diabetes. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the screening and detection methods for obesity and type 2 diabetes, and consider the evidence base to both prevent and manage these conditions at both an individual and a population level.
This module will meet your needs as a health care professionals who would like to advance your knowledge and confidence in both initiating and managing injectable therapies. The module covers practical skills but is also grounded in the latest evidence-based medicine.
Supporting someone with diabetes to become a successful self-manager is critical to good outcomes, whether clinical, psychological or emotional. This module will help you to develop skills to support self-care in people with diabetes and other long term conditions.
On this module, you will study the pharmacology of dementia, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and of reducing cardiovascular risk for the older person with diabetes. Together we will explore the issues experienced by and the impact of these on the older person with diabetes and discuss the importance of screening for complications of diabetes in the older person, in particular eyes, feet and kidneys. You will also investigate the impact of exercise and good nutrition on older people with diabetes, as well as the concept of frailty and its relationship to nutrition and exercise.
